Situado nas Penhas Douradas, mais concretamente no coração da Serra da Estrela a uma altitude de 1437 metros está o maior vale glaciar da Europa, o Vale do Rossim. Está inserido na Reserva Biogenética do Parque Natural da Serra da Estrela.
